Hairdressing Program
Ray's Beauty School Ltd. offers a full-time program in Hairdressing.
The total hours of study is 1500 hours, spanning a period of 10 months for full-time students.
New: 1500 hours Evening Hairdressing Program; a 10 month 1500 hours program with more flexible hours to fit in other schedules like work and study.

The course itself is divided into three segments, signifying the progression of the student:
- Segment 1 is the Junior level where students are provided with a solid background in hairdressing theory and all the basic practical skills.
- Segment 2, the Intermediate level. Students are expected to build on the foundation accumulated in Segment 1, demonstrating their skills through client services.
- Segment 3, Senior level, focuses on advanced skills as well as salon business practises and provincial exam preparation.
Admission Requirements
Applicant must be 19 years of age or older
OR
- Possess a BC grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in the English reading and listening
- Good Hand and finger coordination
- Good acuity and color vision to see and read colors correctly
- Good physical and mental health (free of communicable disease i.e. TB) proven by a doctor's letter.
- This job requires stylists to be able to stand and sit for extended period of time
- Successful interview with school official
- Must be a Canadian resident i.e. citizen, permanent resident, or international student
Students should also be aware that this is a rigorous training program that requires a significant time commitment. If you are planning to attend full-time, please be sure that your studies do not conflict with any previous commitments you may have.
Registration Procedure
In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, students wishing to apply should submit the following documents at least 7 business days prior to your scheduled interview:
- Photograph ID clearly bearing the student's date of birth.
- High school transcripts or other proof of high school graduation if student is under the age of 19.
- A certificate of health signed by a qualified physician.
- Non-refundable $100.00 registration fee.

School Closures
The school is closed on all statutory holidays. In addition, we close for one week for winter holidays during the end of December and beginning of January. Please contact the school directly for precise closure period.
